About Us

Happy Sheep Make Happy Wool

Turning Point Farm raised Gotland Sheep with our partners at By George Farm. We have sold the farm and placed the animals with friends and neighbors. We still have access to their lovely wool and have now become Turning Point for Fiber. We still create yarns, garments and now rugs with our wool. We sell our yarns jointly under the name - The Sheep Project. We have been raising sheep for the past 15 years. Our sheep were raised on green fields with careful handling to create friendly, happy sheep who produce exceptional wool. We sheared twice a year to gather the highest quality fiber. We process the wool, sell raw fleeces, roving, hand spun and mill spun yarns, hand knitted and hand felted garments and woven rugs. Gotland sheep grow lustrous curls that make for a glossy finish to the fiber. It is unique and is rarely found in yarn stores. We also have limited amounts of Gotland/Shetland fiber that comes from three of our crossbred sheep, which is some of the softest wool this side of merino. We are happy to discuss special orders and help you find the perfect fiber to satisfy your passion for wool. Use the contact us form to get in touch. Thank you for visiting our site.

Below are some of our star producers of fine wool. They are some of the sweetest animals we have had on the farm. I've also included a photo of our shearing day. It took a crew of friends and neighbors to come help on those days to make everything run smoothly. And there's a photo of Luna. A Lamb who's mother rejected her (the only one in 15 years) and she was bottle fed and raised in the house for a few weeks before getting outdoor playtime with her cousins. The wool keeps them cozy in all kinds of weather. And then there's the way too cool, Sprinkles, one of the friendliest lambs we ever had. Nebula was also extremely friendly and so special with his two different color eyes.
